What is Trauma? Exercise: This is a simple exercise designed to assist you in getting in touch with what trauma means to you. What is your definition of trauma? Use the space below to type your definition of trauma or take 5 – 10 minutes to think about your definition of trauma.

After you’ve come up with your definition of trauma, make a list of everything you would consider to be traumatic (whether you have experienced these things or not). Once you have the list made, reflect back on your own life and ask yourself what traumatic experiences you have endured. Make a note of all that apply.
